Develops hydrogen-compatible micro gas turbines (MGT) for distributed power, mobility and aerospace use cases. The MGT is an advanced propulsion system, similar to a jet engine, capable of running on 100% hydrogen, natural gas, or blended fuels. India has 227 GW of installed diesel generator capacity which is primarily used as backup or captive power and can be replaced by cleaner alternatives. $1M (~₹9CR) seed round. Founded in May 2024, Bangalore based. Founders: CEO Tapisj (IIT Kanpur '09) spent seven years at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (post-doc, then scientist); CTO Ugandhar (BITS Pilani '03: Univ. of Southampton '22) was an engineer GE Aviation for close to 12 years.
Biomanufacturing company that converts industrial carbon emissions into premium biochemicals which can be used for food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetic, agricultural and advanced material industries. The company has developed a carbon biorefinery platform built on proprietary photobioreactor cultivation systems, with a PoC thermal plant set up last year which demonstrated continous carbon capture. Over the next 12-24 months, it will launch its first one-ton-per-day commercial plant and launch multiple pilots. ₹12CR (~$1.4M) seed round. Founded In Nov 2024, Hazaribagh (Jharkhand) based. Founders: Shreyansh (BITS Pilani; Cornell) was a Senior Manager in Takeda's internal manufacturing network, and was an Associate Manager at Bristol Myers Squibb; Umang (IcfaiTech) was an engineer at Cisco (14 years) including roles as Engineering Product Manager and Technical Lead; their father Sanjay is the founder of Sanjay Machineries and STC Hzb, businesses in Hazaribagh.
Company developing and manufacturing next generation battery cells, using LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) chemistry. Plans to set up a 250 MWh pilot manufacturing facility by 2027 and eventually scale to 2 GWh capacity. It has set up a 20K square foot R&D and pilot manufacturing facility in Bangalore. ₹27.4CR (~$3M) seed round. It raised its ₹7.5CR pre-seed round from Speciale in December 2022. Bangalore based, founded in Jun 2021.
Biomaterials startup developing sustainable, compostable alternatives to conventional plastics. It uses agricultural residues and lignocellulosic biomass (a plant based material) to create bio-based packaging materials (instead of petroleum-based plastics). This round is to scale production for its flagship product line, EcoGran. It has sold over 200K KG of its material to customers. 90% of its trials are converting to cmmercial deals with customers. ₹10.5CR seed round. Other investors in the round: DCG Pack, a strategic partner.
Medical robotics startup building robotics systems for minimally invasive soft-tissue surgeries, targetting high-volume abdominal and related procedures. These are segments where robotic adoption is still low in India. It has three products - Pulsar (compact surgical robot which integrates into laparoscopic setups), Galaxi (semi-automated system to enhance precision) and Nebula (VR-based robotic simulator for surgical training). Raise of an undisclosed amount from Kalaari. Founder & CEO Shaurya.
Semiconductor intelligence platform that applies causal AI to troubleshoot tool and process failures, so engineers at semiconductor fabs can move from failure to resolution faster. The system unifies equipment logs, sensor streams, images, service/field reports and technical documentation into a single causal-intelligence layer; with an RCA (root cause analysis) copilot that maps true cause-and-effect relationships. Meant for semidonductor fabs and their tool vendors (i.e. equipment manufacturers). Working with an initial set of pilot customers. $3M seed round. SF/Bengaluru based.
Satellites to guide other satellites. Space-tech startup developing a constellation of data relay satellites which will provide 24/7 access to a company's satellites without waiting for ground station visibility, thereby avoiding delays in downlinking earth observation data. The goal is to reduce latency from hours to minutes, enabling critical use cases defence, agriculture, disaster response, offshore energy and industrial IoT. The goal of this round is to launch its proof of concept relay satellite. $1M round. Bangalore and Chennai based.
Manufacturer of AI-enabled Non Destructive Testing (NDT) robots. NDT robots are designed to inspect valuable assets that operate in difficult to access or hazardous areas without damaging them, in sectors including oil and gas, chemicals, power, railways and the maritime industry.
