Last covered by us in Week 18, 2025. High-resolution thermal imaging through a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. Applications across agriculture, environmental conservation, urban planning and defence. "Beyond economics, thermal EO can help cut 2 Gigaton of GHG emissions annually and drive nature-positive action". In agriculture, for example, thermal imaging optimizes irrigation practices and prevents crop failure. The company has developed its first thermal payload, TAPAS-1, and is prepping for satellite integration. It has also started pilots to monitor heat and air pollution in Ahmedabad and Tumkur (KN). Its pipeline has $42M in LOIs. $2.2M seed round led by Unicorn India Ventures along with existing investors Merak, Java, IIMA-CIIE. The company raised a $3.3M pre-seed round in April 2025 led by Merak, along with Huddle (as well as GVFL, Java, IIMA, PointOne). Shravan (CEPT Univ '11; IIM Calcutta '15) and Urmil (Sahajanand College '96) are from Amnex Infotechnologies, heading business development for satellite solutions. Ranendu was a scientist at ISRO for 26 years.
Autonomy startup for commercial vehicles, which enables them to operate in confined environs (seaports, mining sites, airports, industrial yards) with a combination of retrofit hardware and an AI-powered fleet software. This allows industries to upgrade to autonomous fleets without investing in new vehicles or infra. It reports 100,000+ km of testing with zero safety incidents. It has partnerships with Tier 1 OEMs. ₹22CR (~2.36M) un-labeled round (seed or Pre-A?), following on a $1.71M seed round. Founded by Roshy and Rajaram.
AI-native radio frequency satellite infrastructure, provided through a network of nano satellites. The goal is to provide clients in industries across maritime, aviation, defence, oil & gas and weather forecasting low-latency, high precision insights with 6x more data value per dollar, by capturing the entire radio spectrum compared to legacy satellites which are optical only (i.e. only capture images). The company is focused on getting to its first in-orbit mission. As mentioned in their pre-seed round: "images cannot track moving assets like ships or aircraft. Today, companies take four to four-and-a-half hours to reach a decision. We bring that down to under ten minutes". This is a $2M (~₹18.7CR) round led by Ashish Kacholia with participation from IPV. The company raised its $2.5M pre-seed round in Aug 2025, led by Piper Serica Angel Fund along with Turbostart, IPV and Eaglewings Ventures. Founded in Oct 2018, Bangalore based. Optical ground-station and laser communication infrastructure for satellite links, for 100x faster transfer between satellites and earth than radio frequency (RF). RF ground station operators charge $3-17 per GB, QOSMIC will be priced at $1 per GB. Moreover, RF requires spectrum licenses, whereas optical operates in an unregulated spectrum. Part of the Atoms X LeapTech cohort, with matching investments from Accel and Prosus. Amount undisclosed. Founded in Oct 2024, Bangalore based. Founders: CEO Shreyaans (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign '23) started out as a researcher at IISc shortly before founding QOSMIC; CTO Rohit (Cochin University of Science and Technology '09; IISc PhD '23) completed his PhD in High Dimensional Quantum Information Technology (HD-QIT) and his postdoc before joining QOSMIC; Professor Aloke Kumar (IIT Kanpur '05; Purdue PhD '10) teaches at IISc.
